European Parliament elections – 26 May 2019

 

On 26 May 2019, the European Parliament elections are held in Estonia. From Estonia, seven members will be elected to the European Parliament.

As an Estonian citizen permanently residing in a foreign country, you can vote either electronically, by post or at a foreign mission.

You can vote electronically on the webpage www.valimised.ee from 09:00 on 16 May 2019 round the clock until 18:00 on 22 May 2019.

In order to vote by post you need to send a voting application to Details of the foreign mission

An application to vote by post must be received by the foreign mission by 26 April 2019 at the latest.

In order to vote by post, you need to:
1) Annex a copy of the page of your identity document containing your personal data to the voting application;
2) Indicate the address of your place of residence in a foreign country in the voting application.

On the basis of your voting application, you will be sent a ballot paper, envelopes and an aggregate list of candidates. You will need to write the registration number of the candidate you are voting for in the prescribed place on the ballot paper. Then put the completed ballot paper in the smaller (inner) envelope sent by the foreign mission. Put the smaller envelope in the bigger (outer) envelope sent by the foreign mission. Write your name and personal identification code on the outer envelope. Then send the completed enveloped ballot paper to the foreign mission by post. The ballot paper must be received by the foreign mission no later than by date of receipt of the ballot paper.

In order to vote at a foreign mission, please bring a personal identity document.

If you have not voted in a foreign country, you can vote in Estonia during advance voting from 16 May to 22 May 2019 from 12:00 to 20:00 at polling places where voting outside the voting district of the voter’s place of residence is organised.
